Some jobs aren't about the dollar value of the piece - they're about what the piece means to the person who owns it. That's exactly the case with this aluminum storage box we picked up from a client in Westlake Hills. It's been in the family for years. Worn, oxidized, and showing its age, but still solid. The client's goal was simple: bring it back as close to original as possible.

Here's what we were working with. The exterior panels had significant oxidation and surface grime built up over time. The hardware - hinges, handles, and fasteners - had rusted out in spots. The interior had accumulated years of dirt and debris, with rust bleeding into the corners where moisture had worked its way in. Nothing catastrophic, but nothing a quick wipe-down was going to fix either.

Restoration work like this requires a different mindset than fabricating something new. You're not trying to make it look like something it isn't. You're trying to respect the original construction and bring it back to a clean, functional state without wiping out the character of the piece. That means taking your time on the surface prep, addressing the rust properly, and paying attention to the details most people would overlook.

The client wanted it done right, and that's exactly the kind of job we take seriously. Whether it's a large commercial fabrication or a single family piece with sentimental value, the standard we hold ourselves to doesn't change. If you've got something worth saving, we're happy to take a look at what it needs.
